Gentle therapy with a big impact
The health of children is particularly important to us. When it comes to blood purification by apheresis or hemoperfusion, special considerations are required to ensure safe and effective treatment.
When is blood purification useful for children?
Apheresis and hemoperfusion can be a valuable support for certain health problems. In particular for
- Exposure to heavy metals
- Autoimmune diseases
- Chronic inflammatory stress
- Long Covid and post-viral syndromes
- Metabolic diseases
- Allergies and neurodermatitis
In each case, a thorough medical assessment is carried out to determine whether and in what form a blood purification is advisable. Children are still growing, so we pay particular attention to a gentle, individually adapted approach. A minimum weight of 28 kg is a prerequisite for treatment in children.
Important aspects of treatment
1. individual adaptation
Each treatment is tailored precisely to the child’s age, weight and state of health. The filters and volumes used are specially adapted to ensure optimum tolerance.
2. gentle and stress-free treatment
Children require particularly sensitive care. We take enough time to carry out the treatment in a calm and relaxed atmosphere. Parents can accompany their children throughout the treatment to provide additional support and security.
3. safety first
Comprehensive diagnostics are carried out before treatment to rule out possible risks. During treatment, we continuously monitor all relevant values to ensure safety at all times. We also coordinate closely with the treating pediatrician. For very young patients, we only carry out the treatment in the presence of the pediatrician to ensure maximum safety.
4. accompanying support
Blood cleansing is just one building block on the path to better health. Nutrition, micronutrient supply and stress-reducing measures also play a decisive role. We provide parents with comprehensive advice in order to optimally accompany the therapy.
