Spermidine: more than just anti-ageing

Spermidine is a natural substance that supports numerous processes in the body – above all autophagy, a cellular self-cleaning mechanism. By activating this function, spermidine helps to break down damaged cell components and promote the formation of new cells. In current research, spermidine is increasingly associated with a slowing down of the biological ageing process, improved cell regeneration and increased immune function.

Medical areas of application include long Covid, neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s, cardiovascular and metabolic disorders as well as supporting hair loss.

Why an infusion?

Compared to oral intake via dietary supplements, intravenous administration offers a decisive advantage: the active ingredient enters the bloodstream directly and is immediately and completely available to the body. Bioavailability is significantly higher and the effect can be more targeted and faster. This difference is particularly important for sensitive cellular processes such as those addressed by spermidine.

In addition, many of our patients also see the infusion time as a conscious time-out: a moment of rest, care and regeneration – far away from everyday life.

Structured application over 8 weeks

For a lasting effect, we recommend regular use over a period of eight weeks, with one infusion per week. This treatment rhythm is also recommended by the manufacturer of the infusion solution, Burg-Apotheke. Among other things, this is based on a study by the Charité Berlinwhich has shown that spermidine can inhibit the proliferation of SARS-CoV-2 in human lung cells – an effect that is attributed to the activation of autophagy. The study also suggests that therapeutically effective concentrations can probably only be achieved intravenously.
